The job is to give caregivers of the elderly person a break by offering in-home respite-stimulation for elderly people mainly suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders.
The neighborhoods served are: Villeray, Petite-Patrie, St-Michel, St-Léonard, et Rosemont.
More specifically, you will haver to:
- Supervise the person being cared of at all times;
- Participate in activities with the person being cared for, e.g., puzzles, photo albums, walking, folding clothes, preparing a meal etc.
- Assist with elimination needs, and change incontinence pants if necessary;
- Help take medication;
- Serve a light meal or snack.

Skills required
- CPR and PDSB certification. Training in personal care and Alzheimer’s disease is an asset;
- Ability to establish interpersonal relations, obersvational skills, patience, discretion and empathy;
- Be autonomous in your work;
- Be comfortable working with elderly and frail clients;
- Be able to find your way around easily by public transport or car;
- Years of job-related experience an asset;
- Know how to communicate in French and be able to read and write French;
- Fluency in English or another language (Italian, Spanish, Arabic) is an asset.
Conditions
Offered salary : $22.54/hour
Employement status available : Full time, part time.
The service is offered from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
